While listening to a podcast, the host explained the comparison of Bitcoin as being digital gold. Same as gold, Bitcoin as a resource is limited and therefore this limitation also dictates its future value (amongst of course many other drivers).
However, this article is not about Bitcoin, it is about valuable assets. We are granted our most valuable asset for free! Although it is absolutely limited as a resource and it could be taken away at any time, we do not value it particularly. At least, so it seems.
That brings me to a question to ask. If you are approached randomly, for example by a neighbor or a coworker, asking you for money, would you just easily hand out an amount? I don’t think you would. Even worse, if it would become a daily occurrence that people approach you for money, it would become a very stressful pattern, right? Understandably so. We value our money as an asset that we work hard for and we want to spend it efficiently, or at least see a return of value.
Yet, we are super generous with our most precious asset – time. We tend to give it away left and right, we often waste it willfully and we very seldomly assess the amount of quality we achieve by spending it. I’m of course talking about time so let’s talk about some facts.
Time is precious. It is limited for all of us and contrary to money, the time you lose you can’t regain. Most people that I talk to all confirm that time is valuable and at the same time, almost all are surprised how poorly they manage it. It is a simple truth that we rarely never really reflect on it and we assume weto just have plenty of it. In short, we don’t give it the importance it deserves.
It is not the opinion that all your time should be planned out. But if you spend time, planned or spontaneous, why not make sure that it returns value? That seems logical to me. Whether a spontaneous pillow fight with your children, a candlelit dinner with your partner or even a dynamic business meeting at the work that you love, it all can return value and value equals happiness and fulfillment.
So, sit down and analyze how you manage your most valuable asset and cut what does not return value to you. Dare to say ‘No’ to people that tend to waste your time. If it doesn’t bring you happiness, fulfillment and satisfaction, don’t spend your time on it.
Try this approach and I promise, your life will immediately improve!
